This year’s celebration honors over seven decades of culinary excellence, family tradition, and the guests who have made Jasper’s one of America’s most beloved restaurants. For one night only, we’re offering a specially curated menu featuring the classic dishes that have defined Jasper’s legacy. The celebration begins at 4:30 PM, with reservations available on the half hour until 8:30 PM. Classic Old School Chicago Italian Cooking Class

Since 1984, Jasper’s cooking classes have been a beloved tradition, bringing the joy of Italian cuisine to Kansas City. These classes offer a unique opportunity to learn about authentic Italian dishes while enjoying a delicious meal in a welcoming atmosphere. This is not a hands-on class, but rather a chance to watch, learn, and indulge in an unforgettable culinary experience. The menu for this class is a true celebration of Italian-American flavors. We begin with Baked Clams Oreganata, a classic dish topped with seasoned breadcrumbs, garlic, and oregano, baked to perfection. Next, enjoy Sunday Salad & Meatballs, inspired by the comforting, family-style dinners of generations past. The main course features Chicken Vesuvius, a Chicago-born favorite with roasted chicken, garlic, white wine, and peas, served alongside Pappardelle con Marinara, wide ribbons of pasta coated in a rich, slow-simmered marinara sauce. To finish, indulge in Spumoni Ice Cream Pie, a nostalgic, sweet ending to this Italian feast. Throughout the class, Jasper will share stories, cooking techniques, and tips that make these dishes truly special. Whether you're a longtime guest or new to our cooking classes, you’ll leave with a greater appreciation for Italian cuisine and recipes to recreate at home. The experience includes a full luncheon, cooking instruction, and printed recipes to take with you.
